I have two strong recommendations for January. My absolute pick is Home Fires by Gene Wolfe and Blue by Lou Aronica. Gene Wolfe is a veteran award-winning SFF author with dozens of novels to his credit and Lou Aronica has been in SF publishing and writing for many years. He is launching his new SF imprint The Fiction Studio with his novel Blue.
Also of note this month is the Carol Emshwiller collection, a new James P. Hogan and the ninth Vampire Earth novel.
