Urban Fantasy Weekend Report

INTERVIEWS and EVENTS at SciFiGuy.ca:

October continues to be a busy, busy month. Abigail at All Things Urban Fantasy is profiling some of her favourite urban fantasy blogs this week and will feature SciFiGuy tomorrow. Thanks Abigail! She has already showcased a couple of my favourite blogs including Fantasy Dreamer's Ramblings and Tynga's Reviews. Stop on by and check them out.

Next Saturday (Oct. 24) Carolyn at Book Chick City interviews me as part of her month long All Hallows Eve event. Lots happening over there and she has terrific urban fantasy reviews so drop on by.

Erica Hayes was guest this week and you can still enter the giveaway for her debut novel Shadowfae here. Contest ends tomorrow night. I also interviewed fantasy author R.A. Salvatore on Wednesday which you can view here and enter a giveaway for one of five copies of his newest book The Ghost King. Contest runs until next Sunday night. Remember to check out the links for other stops on his blog tour. Also posted this week is my Hugely Honkin' Halloween Contest for 5 chilling books.

This coming week I start the week up with a guest post on Monday from the incredible Roxanne Rhoads, freelance writer, erotic romance author and poet, story strumpet, tome loving tart, sexual connoisseur, creature of the night (absolutely love that profile). Roxanne will be talking about the Lure of the Vampire and her newest release Eternal Desire. There's a cool giveaway too!

Wednesday my guest will be Diana Pharaoh Francis, author of the Crosspoint Chonicles and the Path fantasy series. Diana will be here to talk about her debut urban fantasy Bitter Night, the first in the Horngate Witches series. Stay tuned for my review of this terrific book on Tuesday.

You can check the Author Events and Interviews section of my left sidebar for the most current schedule of upcoming guests.

Richelle Mead reports that the Vampire Academy series has been banned in Texas

Rachel Vincent had some great news this past week for fans of her Soul Screamers YA series -
Last week I accepted an offer from my publisher for four new books—the fourth and fifth Soul Screamers novels to HQTeen and two more adult novels for MIRA books. I can’t discuss the adult books yet except to say that they will not be Shifters novels. However, I can say that the fourth Soul Screamers book is fully outlined, and I expect to have it written in short order—as soon as I turn in the ALPHA manuscript and edits for My Soul To Keep, which I expect any day.

I had no idea that Scott Westerfeld (Leviathan) was married to Justine Larbalestier (Liar). Here's an interview with Scott where he discusses writing with his wife.
