Reviewette – “Love Bites” by Angie Fox

Anthology: The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2
Story: 9 of 25
Pages: 31

This cheeky story opens with Princess Katarina making an appearance on the vampire equivalent of the The Dating Game television show called “Love Bites”. Recently widowed, the 873 year old Katarina is looking to cut loose for the first time in her life. She selects bachelor number 3, a hunky Scotsman, and is curious to discover what’s under his kilt. Unknown to Kat, Finn is a plant by her father to return her to the castle for another arranged political marriage this time to Vlad the Detailer, the cousin of Vlad the Impaler no less. Needless to say Finn falls for Kat but insists on carrying out his orders. Love Bites features some scorching encounters between Finn and Kat a lot of fun and sassy dialogue interplay. The story is lighthearted and with just the right tone to carry off the many silly and frequent pop culture references.

Mammoth Rating: 4.0 TUSKS (of 5)

Angie Fox: New york Times bestselling author of the Accidental Demon Slayer series, she claims that researching her books can be just as much fun as writing them. In the name of fact-finding, Angie has ridden with Harley biker gangs, explored the tunnels underneath the Hoover Dam and found an interesting recipe for Mamma Coalpot's Southern Skunk Surprise.

  1. I need to read this anthology.

P.S. I stared at your rating.. "tusks.. why tusks?" for a minute before I got the Mammoth reference! :)

  2. LOL Janicu I know it's a little obscure. I tried to find a little image to use but nothing seemed to work. I mean a tusk is just a really big fang, right?
