Yesterday I posted a review for My Soul To Take (releasing August 1), the first book in the new Harlequin Teen line of urban fantasy books for young adults. For dark and mysterious reasons, I happen to have an extra ARC of the next book, Intertwined (releasing September 1) by Gena Showalter, so I am going to have a giveaway.Just leave a comment about your favourite YA books or series to enter. Contest runs until next Monday at Midnight (May 26). I’m happy to ship anywhere. One last qualifier. If you win, I ask that you do a review of the book and post it on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I would be happy to have the winner do a Guest Review here at SciFiGuy.ca. Linking to this post from your blog earns an extra entry (don't forget to leave a note in the comments with the link). Good luck!
Again with the singular! :)
ReplyDeleteA few series: Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampires, Justin Somper's Vampirates.
A few books: Cybele's Secret by Juliet Marillier, Simone Elkeles' Perfect Chemistry, and, actually, I really enjoyed Showalter's Red Handed.
Chelle I changed it to plural just for you! The more the merrier :)
ReplyDeleteDoug,
ReplyDeleteI have to say Harry Potter, Morganville Vampires, Twilight, Marked....LOL
I also love Artemis Fowl and Charlie Bone but I think they are considered childrens books. :)
M
I haven't read a lot of YA stuff (beyond your basic Harry Potter), although I do have the first book of Rachel Caine's Outcast Season sitting on my shelf...
ReplyDeleteOH! I <3 Gena Showalter's books!
ReplyDeleteA favorite YA book of recent would be Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Manchev. I also adore the Evernight series by Claudia Gray too.
There really are too many to chose from but they are the first two that came to mind.
I SOOO can not wait for this book or Rachel Vincent's YA book either. I <3 both authors with a passion.
Sounds cool, I would sure love to give it a try :)
ReplyDeleteI did like Harry Potter, and this old series by Meredith Ann Pierce
Hi Doug!
ReplyDeleteWell, where to start?
I loved the Blue Blood Series, The House of Night Series, and of course The Twilight Saga. What YA list would be complete without adding the Harry Potter Series to the pile. I can't hardly wait for Kim Harrison's Once Dead, Twice Shy, Rachel Vincent's My Soul to Take, Gena Showalter's Interwined, and Chloe Neill's Firespell.
I just received an ARC of Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow that I can't wait to read.
Would you call this an addiction?
Dottie :)
Oh, I SO want this book. MY fave YA series? at the moment is the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. But before that was Harry Potter.
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter, Graceling, Hunger Games, Twilight... and so many more.

ReplyDeleteI am all for a guest review! BTW in a few hours I will be posting my review of Strange Angels on my blog :D
ReplyDeleteL. J. Smith's Vampire Diaries. : ) I've been reading them since elementary school and in a few years my son will be old enough to start them!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite always depends on which one I am reading at the time *LOL*
ReplyDeleteBut if I had to choose only one to buy I would buy The House of Night series by P.C. and Kristine Cast.
Although the Soul Screamers series coming up from Rachel Vincent looks really good. And I just bought Strange Angels from Lili St. Crow and it is going to be a series.
My favorite YA book right now is Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols. It's lovely and that's surprising coming from me because I so rarely read YA books.
ReplyDeleteI also like Tithe and Valiant by Holly Black. Two of the first YA books I ever read.

Only one favorite? Eek - it can't be done! I'm torn between Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy and Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampires. Very different but equally wonderful series. Oh, and of course Meyers' Twilight Saga.
ReplyDeleteI've read Gena Showalter's, The Nymph King, and I have avoided Showalter's work like the plague ever since. If this ARC is as bad as The Nymph King, it is probably best if I do not win it. Because I might give this author a crying review. However, I would like to think that I am an optimistic kind of girl. I'm hoping that Showalter has now improved.
ReplyDeletewould love to read this, loved the twilight series.
ReplyDeleteMy fave YA series would have to be the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. It has an interesting concept and the action scenes are not bad either (when played in my head, I mean).
ReplyDeleteI'd love to review this, even if I don't win! :D
