Amazon the Good

Checked the old mail box today and glory be there was my pre-order of Skin Trade by Laurell K. Hamilton. And quite a hefty tome it is clocking in at 486 pages. Gotta love Amazon when it ships early. Review coming next Tuesday (official release date).

  1. I heard on Twitter that Anita may go too far sexually with a 16 year old boy on this latest. Too bad I gave up on this former highly addicted series years ago :(

  2. I am not very good at letting go myself and I keep hoping the series will regain some of it's former glory, so I continue to hope and read anyway. The Twitter comment is interesting because I was actually beginning to think that she was starting to tone down the sexual hijinks a little. Sigh.

  4. Hi Doug!

I love LKH, can't seem to let go either. I hadn't heard or seen this on twitter about any 16 year old involvement, I'm not big on that. But, then I don't seem to get to tweet very much. Not enough time.

  5. This is one series I probably won't give up. I did with her Merry series though, just lost interest in it.

  6. I'm with everyone, I can't give her up, but the sex never bothers me. It's a plot device, so I deal with it.

But what is the thing about the 16 year old? I cannot see that happening. You'll have to tell us if it's true Doug.

Although I am jealous that you have it already. :) I may not be giving her up, but that doesn't mean I'm going to shell out the money for a hardcover. ;P

  7. KB I wasn't sure I believed it. LKH DID introduce a 16 year old weretiger mid-way through the book but nothing happened. I should have known better. Yep, it happened, but there were extenuating circumstances (aren't there always).

Mandi yeah I have to stick with it. Honestly I finished the book and it was surprisingly good.

Hey Dottie I can barely keep up with out considering Twitter *shudder*

Anna I have stuck with both. The next Merry should be interesting as she has pretty much resolved the entire first story arc. We'll see.

Jackie. It's true. Can't blame it on Anita though from a plot point of view, as to LKH choices though...hmmm. I don't buy many series in HC but I am not one for the library and waiting for the paperback just won't do.

  8. I saw this at an independent bookstore/ used bookstore a little over a week ago but I resisted the urge to buy it since it wouldn't help my fav author!
