Cover Art - "Hunting Memories" by Barb Hendee

Hunting Memories is the second book in Barb Hendee's Vampire Memories urban fantasy series and is due for release October 6, 2009. Here is the cover announced on the Vampire Memories website today. A third book in the series Memories of Envy is due October 2010.

When she read those words, Eleisha Clevon knew she had to respond to Rose de Spenser’s letter and connect with another vampire. Both reluctant predators, they venture outside only when the hunger becomes unbearable, try not to draw attention to themselves—and feel guilty when ending human lives.

But Eleisha has learned a way to draw blood from her victims without killing them. She wants to share this knowledge with like-minded vampires and create a haven where they can exist together—and forge a united front against Julian Ashton, a vampire who has been hunting down and destroying his own kind for the last century.

To win Rose to her cause, Eleisha must risk meeting her face-to-face, knowing full well she might be an agent of Julian’s—but never expecting the revelations Rose has to share about Eleisha’s own vampire origins…

  1. Doug, you are so cool.

I hope you like this novel better than you liked the first one.

I'm just kidding. I think you will (smiles).

But I was just looking up your blog because I wanted to tell you that I *think* Roc is going to use a quote from you (from your review of IN SHADE AND SHADOW) on the hard cover of THROUGH STONE AND SEA.
I saw the rough cover copy, and you were there.

I know you're widely read, but that should give your blog a little more exposure.

  2. Hi Barb

That is the most amazing news (but not to count my chickens and all that). Wow just wow. LOL you and ROC rock. Thanks for making my day.

I know I will like Hunting Memories because you know I like your writing. It was the whole updating of a dark fantasy to the urban fantasy thing that caught me off guard on the earlier book. And besides you know us reviewers can be ornery critters every now and then :)

For bloggers comments are like water to a man (or woman) wandering in the desert. A precious commodity. I love to hear from everyone and do my best to respond to every post.
