Cover Art - "Drawn Into Darkness" by Annette McCleave

It seems the recent trend in hot guys on the cover of UF and PNR novels continues. Here is the cover to Drawn Into Darkness by Annette McCleave, her debut paranormal romance novel due to be released September 1, 2009. You can find out more at her website. Thanks to Sylvia Day at her blog for the heads up.

A captivating tale of angels and demons, and of a man and woman as inexorably bound by passion as they are by the evil destined to destroy it...

For centuries Lachlan MacGregor has battled demon thieves for the souls of the dead, carrying out his pledge to deliver them into Heaven or Hell. But his greatest challenge as a Soul Gatherer is now among the living.

Struggling to connect with her troubled teenage daughter Emily, artist Rachel Lewis turns to her enigmatic yet strangely compelling neighbor Lachlan for advice. As Lachlan soon discovers, the young girl has fallen victim to a seductive demon—a specter from the past using the unsuspecting women to fulfill an ancient prophesy and settle a hellish score with Lachlan himself.

In the race to save Emily and avert a disastrous power shift among the deities, Rachel and Lachlan forge an uncommon bond. But how can Lachlan tell the mortal woman he’s falling in love with that the next soul he’s been enlisted to gather—and deliver beyond—is her daughter’s?

  1. This is totally a cover trend I can get behind. *nom nom nom*

  2. I agree Chris! Especially if they continue with those abs. :)

  3. Wow, going for 18 pack abs now?
The cover is hot. Abs of steel men work.

  4. Well I guess it is only fair that the ladies get some eye candy once in a while because usually the covers are easy on the eyes for guys with all the sexy kick butt heroines :)

  5. Yup, there are worse cover trends out there. :)
I think the hot chick in the leather thing is done so guys don't complain about their girlfriends filling the house with books. :)

  6. In all honesty though - it works. If I see a book - especially one from an author I haven't read before - and the cover is tempting, I'm more likely to grab it and read the back blurb. LOL

  7. Michelle I'm feeling a book cover video coming on . . .

  8. Hagelrat and I will deny most strenuously that I never buy a UF book for the amazing, sexy leatherclad women on the cover, it's always for the articles I mean story inside :)

For bloggers comments are like water to a man (or woman) wandering in the desert. A precious commodity. I love to hear from everyone and do my best to respond to every post.
