Cover Art - Moonburn by Alisa Sheckley

Here is the cover for Moonburn the sequel to The Better to Hold You which was released this month. Moonburn hits the stores May 19, 2009. I'm currently reading The Better to Hold You and quite enjoying it. I will be posting my review of this dark urban fantasy on Friday.

Life in Northside gets a whole lot more complicated, as Abra starts getting wolfish between full moons, and builders working on Old Scolder mountain accidentally cut into an ancient crossroads between dimensions.
Alisa Sheckley is a native New Yorker. After years as an editor at Vertigo, the mature/dark fantasy imprint of DC Comics, and working on the phenomenally popular Sandman series, she is now a full-time writer. She is the author of several novels, including The Dominant Blonde and Flirting in Cars. She lives just north of the New York City with her husband and two children. And yes she is related to respected science fiction writer Robert Sheckley.

  1. Darn! I recently turned a manuscript called Moonburn into my agent. We both loved the title, but I guess it wasn't as original as I thought. In any case, I hope this Moonburn does well.

  2. Catherine it is still a great title. Stick with it. Last I checked there were 5 different books of the title "On the Prowl" which is a great book title and that is just in the last couple of years (and I believe they are all UF or PNR).

  3. It is a completely different style of paranormal novel, so I may stick with it. Thanks for the encouragement to keep it. Titles are always so tricky.

  4. Hey Catherine I look forward to being able to review your Moonburn here.

  5. Thanks! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the book will see the light of day (vampire pun intended).
